How PSYCH-K™ Came To Me (My Personal story)

Sunrise

Biography by Stephen D. Thompson

I am an adventurer of spirit. I live my life fully; always curious as to why and how things evolve in our universe. I get the most of my human experience on this planet by asking simple questions like: Why am I here? What is my purpose in life? How can I better serve mankind? What do I want to accomplish in my life? How does my spirituality actually embrace me? And… What moral values guide me on my quest for truth? As you can see I am a truth seeker and PSYCH-K™ helps me to stay on course everyday.

My background is rich and complete; a simple, average upbringing within the family environment including my father (now a retired painting contractor) with limited education but a strong success orientated work ethic, a stay-at-home mom who controlled the household with persuasive aggression, and one younger brother who learned about early life from watching his older sibling challenge every rule in the book.  I did have medical complications it seems most of my life, yet it taught me to understand that physical challenges can teach many lessons in character, commitment, and tenacity.

I have several college degrees which give me some credibility in certain circles. However, using my common sense approach to life has enabled me to achieve my grandest successes. I have a B.S. in Psychology, B.A. in Sociology with emphasis in Behavioral Studies and A.A. Degrees in both Music and Art. I have a Degree in Western Religions and was an Associate Minister within the protestant faith for several years. I still facilitate marriages and funerals, and frequent visitations in the local hospitals, senior centers and hospice. Since learning about PSYCH-K, I have studied Neuro-Linguistic Programming, became licensed in clinical hypnosis, studied quatum physics, have taken four years of metaphysics classes and attended countless workshops in healing modalities. As you can tell, I am always moving forward in the learning environment.

I think all of us fall into categories that are our natural strengths in life. For some it is the pioneering spirit that drives us (inventor, philosopher, creators of new experiences). Pioneering is not my natural strength. I am a teacher, a purveyor of knowledge. My talent is in explaining in a real and passionate way what others have shown me, so the student can embrace the thought forms and act on them to their satisfaction. I teach at a community college; I teach PSYCH-K; I teach relationship workshops, I teach life management courses, and host in many other arenas. I love teaching as well as being a student. Sharing with others completes me. I sometimes think I could be an isolationist, yet I know that my truest learning comes from the people that I associate with every day. Through all of this teaching, I am now developing my own concepts and putting them into realization. I think the pioneering spirit through experience is a natural progression that is earned.

I have been with Rob Williams and PSYCH-K since 1992. It is, without doubt, my strongest passion and joy. To be part of this fantastic method for positive change has been the inspiration that has kept me going through my life’s adventures for the past 14 years. It has allowed me the courage to continue on my journey in life.

I would like to close with the business aspect of my life. I owned and operated a large design firm, grossing over a million dollars annually, with 22 employees from 1978 to 1990. I am a Paul Harris award winner with Rotary International and serve on committees with the Boy Scouts.  I have had a full-time private-practice with PSYCH-K since 1995, averaging 15 clients a week. The name of my practice is the “Personal Search and Growth Center”. I am (semi-retired) at Butte Community College. I also enjoy the opportunity to teach PSYCH-K and other workshops whenever and wherever possible. I specialize in pain management, death and dying, and chronic illness. I work with athletes, teens, people with learning disabilities, and businesses in achieving peak performance. My life is full, enriched, and blessed. So may yours be.

Sincerely, Stephen Thompson
